Are We Living For Them Or Are We Living For Ourselves????

I have read sumthing from Malay Dilemma where it has been mentioned that the Malays in particular since the old days like to force their children into marriage. Seeing is believing I do think that our society always put us in a place where we SHOULD get married whether we are ready or not.The questions will start as early as ur 24 “dah ade bf ke belum?”.The same repetitive questions will be posed to you till you give the society the answer that they want.Subsequently, after confessing that ur already in a relationship the next question is “bila nak kawin?si polan si polan tu dah bertunang@dah kawin@dah nikah blah blah blah.ko bila lagi?”Geez…another dilemma for us to answer.Sometimes you are just starting to build your life and career and these kinda statements would haunt you everytime you meet with ur frens, family, etc.Doesn’t it feel suffocating???. Unfortunately, after spending rm40-50k to fulfill the society’s expectation (while you yourself haven’t been giving urself a chance to think whether u have or have not achieved sumthing in ur life),ANOTHER important question will be asked “bila nak pregnant?bla nak ade isi?” which to me is totally absurd as it will pressure us into believing that we are incapable@infertile since we are not able to conceive after 5 months of marriage???ha ha ha ha. No ‘society’, the Malay women are not necessarily infertile to get pregnant. The reason might vary from we aren’t given the ‘rezeki’ yet by God or probably we think that maybe we need time to settle down (and settle the debt) after our kenduri(since we have to fulfill the society’s needs to have a big wedding) or we just need to spend some time wif our newly wed hubby to get to know him beta?to try to fit in our new role?to not be caught in scene where WE ARE JUST NOT READY and regret later and whine about it and make our husband run away for other women coz we haven’t had the chance to spend wif them since we are so stuck wif the baby since the society WANTS us to have one yet we ourselves still wanna chill for a while??WOW that’s how things werk with us. The truth is sumtimes we do not have to abide to everything….coz following without thinking hard might be the contributing factor why there are a high percentage of divorce cases among the Malays..we seem not to know what we really want, but we comprehend and tag along what our society mocks us with.. Hmmm something to ponder...

Introduction to the beauty of cigarettes

Give me that dose of beauty
For me to undress the ugliness
And the perfection will hurl the defect
Adoration is my absolution
This pack of fourteen
Can buy me my dream
Those packs of twenty
Redeem my symphonies
Perpetual exquisiteness is what I need
Feed me with anything
That can fix the wrecked carcass
And revive it with better providence
This black hole I will escape
Find a light with my corpse to shine
The gold box will help me survive through it all
Be it the ugliest of it all, me..
